SUMMER 2020 NEWS
PSS/SSP Submission to the Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Affairs Committee on the impact of COVID-19
Follow this link to read the joint Playwrights' Studio Scotland/Scottish Society of Playwrights response to the call for views on the impact of COVID-19 on Scotland's culture and tourism sectors from The Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Affairs (CTEEA) Committee. We appreciate the time and effort that went into sharing these candid responses with us. We received 75 separate replies to the survey. These were generous, articulate, knowledgeable and nuanced responses to the place of theatre and playwriting at this time of crisis. If you feel that you would still like to have the detail of your response heard by the Committee, you are welcome to make an individual submission.
Annual General Meeting
2020's AGM was held online at 2pm, Saturday 27 June via Zoom. We ran a reduced Agenda, so that any policy decisions can be held until an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) can take place later in the year. This will be arranged as soon as circumstances allow.
Thanks to donations from SSP members we have funds available for mini hardship grants for members. Simply drop us an email stating the amount you require. As a guide we ask that this be no greater than £100. We will be in touch at the end of June 2020 to request your bank details and process payments. Members who have previously applied may do so again.
Membership renewal for 2020/21 begins on 1 August 2020 with an option to defer payment of subs. Details of renewals and options to defer will be circulated via email in July.
