RESOURCES
The SSP works with various partners across Scotland to identify and negotiate best practice guidelines for professional playwrights and dramaturgs.
The council is made of up of experienced playwrights with different backgrounds and expertise to ensure that it is dynamic and represents as much of the sector as possible.
Key to the organisation is the SSP contract, created to ensure a fair deal for playwrights in Scotland. The contract was developed alongside the Federation of Scottish Theatre so it is accepted as the industry wide standard and we would advise members to use for every commission they receive.
Of course not all jobs are straight-forward commissions so you can also download guidelines here about other ways in which a playwright may engage with a process, including devising, co - authorship and translation.
You'll find access to all of our resources in the dropdown menu above and across the pages of this site.
