SSP Events
Throughout the year, the SSP organises readings, panel discussions and talks. Past projects have included our week-long programme of events at the Traverse, Edinburgh, a Different Stages event to discuss and a celebration of our 40th birthday in 2013.
UPCOMING
The 2024 Playwrights' Celebration will take place on Monday 19 August, at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh. This year we have extra reason to celebrate as SSP is celebrating its 50th anniversary year, The Traverse celebrates its 60th, and Playwrights' Studio has reached the grand old age of 20. The event will include readings of iconic plays from the anniversary years of 1973 and 2004, a lively panel discussion and, of course, the usual Reception with an opportunity to mingle, catch up and chat with your colleagues afterwards. See you there!

Annual General Meeting
2024's AGM took place on 12pm-3pm Saturday 22 June at the Tron Theatre.
HECTOR Macmillan Award
In 2019 the SSP created the Hector MacMillan Award for Best New Scottish Play, and three Hectors have now been awarded. Find out more about the award here.
