Scottish commission rates
The FST/SSP Commissioning Agreement for New Plays was last updated on 29 March 2019. Negotiations are ongoing on a new agreement, expected to be in place by 2026. Rates were uplifted in April 2025, with a further uplifted planned for April 2026 as advised in the notice below.

The minimum fee for a full-length new play over 90mins is currently £10,250.
Up to 15 minutes £2,050
Up to 30 minutes £4,100
Up to 45 minutes £5,125
Up to 60 minutes £6,150
Up to 90 minutes £8,200
Over 90 minutes £10,250
A further 5% increase is planned for April 2026 to rectify the recent 5 year stagnation in pay.
